Dutch cookie law update

Until now the Dutch government had the most strict cookie law. Websites needed explicit consent for all non functional cookies. But today ( 20th December 2012)  the government announced  in a letter that websites who use first party cookies for anonymous tracking e.g. Google Analytics and similar tracking tools do not need explicit consent anymore.

Tracking for improvement on your website does not need consent when this is done completely anonymously and the gathered data is kept anonymous. You are also not allowed to share any of the gathered information with third parties.
